There is a feeling I want to communicate through my photographic style;

being there.

Going through the pre-major program freshman year at RISD [and frankly the
entire 4 years] didn't allow me a lot free time. That year it seemed EVERYBODY
toured, and the shows were large, fun and of course eventually legendary. As a
result I made a vow to go to every show I could the next year and bring my
camera so I could immortalize all the musicians doing what they do best-
performing. I experimented a little with style, trying at first with the flash in a
beginners attempt to "get everything" on film. But when the pictures came back,
the were closer to mug shots then arepresentation of the intensity of what we
witnessed on stage. Since then, my goal has been to capture the musician and
the ambiance of the show. These shots should take you there, to the concert, up
front and hear how loud and see how legendary it actually was.
